Use CareBlox in Microsoft Edge (Internet Explorer mode)

Guide to access CareBlox using Microsoft Edge, including how to enable Internet Explorer mode, fix redirect issues, and restore missing options.

CareBlox was designed to run in Internet Explorer, which is no longer supported by Microsoft. To continue using CareBlox, you must use Microsoft Edge with Internet Explorer (IE) mode enabled.

This article shows how to set up Edge correctly, fix common issues, and ensure CareBlox runs as expected.


Before you start

⚠️ Important

  • You must use Microsoft Edge to access CareBlox

  • You may need access to browser settings

  • IE mode settings expire after 30 days and must be re-enabled


Set up Internet Explorer mode in Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Go to the CareBlox login page.

  3. Copy the URL from the address bar.

  4. Click the three dots (⋯) in the top‑right corner.

  5. Select Settings.

  6. Click Default browser.

  7. Set Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode to Allow.

  8. Under Internet Explorer mode pages, click Add.

  9. Paste the CareBlox URL and confirm.

  10. Close the settings tab.

  11. Reload the CareBlox website.


Reload CareBlox in Internet Explorer mode

If CareBlox is not displaying correctly:

  1. Open CareBlox in Edge.

  2. Click the three dots (⋯).

  3. Select Reload in Internet Explorer mode.

🤓Tip: You can right‑click this option and select Show in toolbar to make it easier to access.


Fix Internet Explorer redirecting to Edge

If Internet Explorer keeps opening in Edge:

To stop the redirect:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Click Default browser.

  4. Set Let Internet Explorer open sites in Microsoft Edge to Never.

  5. Close all browser windows and try opening CareBlox again.


Enable Internet Explorer mode option in Edge

If the IE option is missing from your toolbar:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Click the three dots (⋯)Settings.

  3. In the search bar, type Internet Explorer.

  4. Go to Appearance > Toolbar.

  5. Turn on Internet Explorer (IE Mode).

  6. Restart your browser.


Install Internet Explorer (if missing)

If you see a message that Internet Explorer is not installed:

  1. Click StartSettings.

  2. Go to AppsOptional features.

  3. Click Add a feature.

  4. Select Internet Explorer and install it.


Common issues and tips

  • IE mode settings expire after 30 days and must be set up again

  • Always use the Edge menu search option, not the browser bar search

  • Ensure you are opening the correct CareBlox URL
