This article helps you troubleshoot common touch screen issues on a CareBlox T&A terminal. It explains how to restart both legacy and current terminals and what to do if the touch screen is not responding due to static build-up. Follow the steps below to restore normal touch functionality.
Restart the terminal
Like any computer, the terminal may occasionally need a restart. Turning the terminal off and back on can often resolve touch screen issues.
Legacy terminal
Press the largest button on the top right or bottom right of the terminal.
Wait for the terminal to fully shut down.
Press the same button again to power it back on.
Wait for the Asus logo and for Windows to load automatically.
Double-tap the “double tap here” icon to open the CareBlox software.
Current terminal
Press and hold the button on the bottom right of the terminal for 3 seconds.
When prompted, swipe the screen down to shut down the terminal.
Wait for the terminal to fully power off.
Press the same button again to turn it back on.
Once Windows loads, double-tap the “double tap here” icon to open the CareBlox software.
Possible static build-up on the screen
Because the terminal is constantly powered on and in use, the touch screen can sometimes build up static, which may cause touch input to stop working properly.
To resolve this:
Shut down the terminal using the steps above.
Leave the terminal powered off for at least 30 minutes to allow the static charge to dissipate.
Power the terminal back on and check if touch input is restored.
