The terminal has crashed

Guide for when the terminal has crashed

If your terminal has frozen or crashed, try restarting it using the steps below based on the terminal type.


Legacy terminal (older model)

  1. Press the large button on the top‑right or bottom‑right of the unit.

  2. Wait for the terminal to shut down completely.

  3. Press the same button again to turn it back on.

  4. Wait for Windows and CareBlox to load.


Current terminal (newer model)

Restart the terminal

  1. Press and hold the bottom‑right button for 3 seconds.

  2. Swipe down when prompted to shut down.

  3. Wait for the terminal to power off fully.

  4. Press the same button again to restart.

  5. Wait for Windows and CareBlox to load.

Reset the terminal

  1. Unlock and open the terminal case.

  2. Remove the tablet from the case.

  3. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.

  4. Release the button when the Linx logo appears.

  5. Wait for Windows and CareBlox to load.

  6. Place the tablet back into the case and lock it.
