Install sage tier

Guide to Install sage tier

You must have administrator rights to install and run Sage Tier.
If you do not have admin access, please contact your IT team.


Before You Start

  • You will need an installation code

  • If you don’t have one, please use our Access Digital Assistant to get support. and reference this article


Download the Latest Version

  • The latest Sage Tier version is available on the CareBlox Community Portal

  • If this is a new installation, skip to Install the New Version


Save Your Settings (Upgrades Only)

  1. Open Sage Tier

  2. Go to File → Preferences

  3. Write down or screenshot all current settings


Uninstall the Old Version

  1. Open This PC and go to the C:\ Drive

  2. Select Uninstall or Change Programs

  3. Find CareBlox Sage Tier

  4. Click Uninstall and confirm when prompted


Install the New Version

  1. Find the downloaded file

  2. Right‑click and select Extract

  3. Open the folder and right‑click Setup

  4. Select Run as Administrator

  5. Follow the on‑screen steps:

    • Click Next

    • Choose Just Me

    • Select the install location

    • Click Next twice

  6. If any warnings appear, click Continue until the install completes

A Sage Tier shortcut will appear on your desktop.


Set Sage Tier to Run as Administrator

  1. Right‑click the Sage Tier shortcut

  2. Select Properties → Compatibility

  3. Tick Run as Administrator

  4. Click Apply, then OK


Check Your Sage Version

  1. Open Sage Accounts or Sage Payroll

  2. Go to Help → About

  3. Note the version number


Update Sage Tier Settings

  1. Open Sage Tier

  2. Go to File → Preferences

  3. Re‑enter your saved settings

  4. Use the new Sage version number

  5. Click OK to save


Sage Tier Settings Guide

  • CareBlox Clients – Yes (if using Clients module)

  • Sage Accounts Version – Select your current version

  • Always Update Customer Details – Yes

  • Always Use This Nominal Code – Enter your default code

  • CareBlox Payroll – Yes (if using Payroll)

  • Sage Payroll Version – Select your current version

  • Process Employee Information – Yes

  • Pay Frequency – Monthly or Four‑Weekly

  • Default Tax Code – Must be entered

  • Web Service – Always set to Sage Tier 5

  • CareBlox Sage User – Enter username/password (case‑sensitive)

  • Enable Auto Checking – Leave unticked
